About.Learn more about the Program and the team that works behind the scenes
Established in 2012The Undergraduate Student Consultant (uSC) program was created by the American Language Institute to provide an outlet for international teaching assistants to gain extra one-on-one tutoring from a native English speaker. After its creation, uSCs and ITAs loved the arrangement, and it has been a popular program ever since.
Our GoalThe uSC/ITA program allows for the opportunity for international graduate students to improve their English, learn about American culture, and become a better teacher in the undergraduate classrooms. In addition, they are able to form unique relationships with their uSC that can last throughout their time at the university.
